The Rules of Normal Eating

Posted in Eating Disorder Recovery Resources, Help for Those who Tend Toward Self-Destruction, SUNY at Buffalo Prevention and Treatment Group Updates at 8:01 pm by satsanga

I found a very helpful book for recovery called

The Rules of Normal Eating by Karen Koenig.

She writes some very important things in this book.

For example, here are her rules of change:

1. Change is simple, but not easy

2. Change is incremental.

3. Change is slow.

4. Change does not happen without discomfort.

5. Change is facilitated by having or developing specific personality traits

6. If you put one foot in front of the other, you can’t help but get to where you want to go.

If those sound interesting to you…you should read what she has to say about them and what else she has to say….it is a very good read…very grounding.

Do we need to be PERFECT? What is Success?

Posted in Uncategorized at 4:15 pm by satsanga

Check this out. One of our group members found this story in the NY Times.

In group we tried to figure out the answer to this question, “How do you know when you are successful?”

Perfect is not a good answer….perfect has no limits, the puruit is endless. See what they say….
